Respond to "The Waste Land and Individual Talent" by T. S. Elliot

In ‘The Waste Land’ and ‘an Individual Talent’ by T. S. Elliot, I see there are something that must be known by poet, to understand a poetry and poem. In ‘an Individual Talent’ explains that the poet is not a place to express feeling and emotion, but it is an escape to do express and reflect sense of feel into writings and orals form. According to my point of view, the author tells that poet is a portrait of people experiences which are reflected through writing an oral literature. The experience of who is seen and what is seen till converge in feel and emotion that’s in people’s mind.

             I see the poet has a conscious and an unconscious power of people that can be transformed into literature works. The power has honesty because what is seen and what is perceived immediately written and vocalized. In this essay ‘an Individual Talent’ explained that it’s a fatal mistake if the poet doesn’t put his consciousness in his unconsciousness, and also if the poet put his unconsciousness in the condition that he supposed to be conscious.

In the Poetry, there are the contents must be noticed, such as, words, phrases, rhymes, and so on. The wordplay unite the words and phrases till becomes the unity of the whole body of writing. Every words and phrases relate with the reality. And then, the poetry is a mirror of people life.
